【摘要】:Thispracticeoutlinesleadhazardreductionmethodsthathavebeenshowntobeeffectiveinpreventingleadpoisoninginchildren.Thispracticetabulatesadvantages,disadvantages,andrelativecostsofthereductionmethodstoassistprofessionalssuchascertifiedleadriskassessors,supervisors,orprojectdesignersinselectingappropriatecost-effectiveoptionsforcontrollingleadhazardsidentifiedduringaleadriskassessment.Differentcontrolmethodsmaybeequallyeffectiveincontrollingagivenleadhazardand,consequently,theselectionofaspecificcontrolmethodmaydependontheneedsandeconomicconstraintsoftheclientorbuildingowner.Thispracticeisintendedtocomplementotherleadhazardactivitiesthatareperformedinaccordancewithregulationspromulgatedbyauthoritieshavingjurisdiction.Forexample,insomejurisdictions,aleadhazardriskassessment,byregulation,consistsofavisualassessment,ahazardassessmentincludingenvironmentalmonitoringforlead,andselectionofleadhazardreductionmethods.Thispracticeisintendedtoassisthomeowners,ownersandoccupantsofrentalproperty,lenders,insurers,andotherswhohaveinterestinselectingoptionsforcontrollinghazardsassociatedwithleadedpaint,dust,orsoil.ThispracticecomplementsPracticeE2115.InformationanddatagatheredinaccordancewithPracticeE2115andthispracticeareusedinpreparingariskassessmentreport.Subsequentleadhazardsaremitigatedthroughimplementationofcontrolsselectedinaccordancewiththispresentpractice.Thispracticeaddressesthemostcommonlyusedleadhazardreductionmethods.Itislefttousersofthispracticetoidentifytheadvantages,disadvantages,andrelativecostsassociatedwithemergingcontroltechnologiesforcomparisonwiththesecharacteristicsofestablishedleadhazardcontrolmethods.Thispracticedoesnotaddressspecifichistoricpreservationrequirements.Theinterimcontrolandabatementmethodsinthispracticewillworkinanystructure;however,historicpreservationregulationspromulgatedbyauthoritieshavingjurisdictionmayimposespecificinterimcontrolorabatementmethods.1.1Thispracticedescribestheselectionofleadhazardreductionmethodsforcontrollingleadhazardrisksidentifiedduringriskassessmentsofresidentialdwellingsandchildoccupiedfacilities.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thispracticecontainsnotes,whichareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
