【摘要】:Thepurposeofthispracticeistoensuresatisfactoryfitonstandardsizes,toaccommodateradialexpansionofpipesandtubeswhichareheatedafterbeinginsulated,andtominimizethenumberofinsulationsizesandthicknessestobemanufacturedandstocked.Whileitispossibletomanufacturerinsulationtotheserecommendeddimensions,exercisecareinattemptingtonestlayersofdifferentmaterials,orlayerssuppliedbydifferentmanufacturers.Individualmanufacturingprocesseswilloperateatslightlydifferenttolerances.Whiletheproductwillfitthepipe,itispossiblethatitwillnotreadilynestastheouterlayerbetweenthedifferentmaterials,orwithadifferentmanufacturer,andpossiblythesamemanufacturer.Exercisecaretodeterminethesedifferencesbeforespecifyingororderingnestingsizes.Thewiderangeofouterdiameterdimensionaltoleranceswillpreventmanypipeandtubeinsulationsfromnestingforstaggeredjointsordoublelayeredapplications,orbothunlessspecifiedwhenorderedfromthemanufacturer,distributor,orfabricator.4.4Dimensionsinaccordancewiththispracticedonotnecessarilypermitapplicationofonethicknessofpipeinsulationoveranother(NestingorSimplifiedDimensionalSystem)toobtaintotalthicknessesgreaterthanthosemanufacturedassinglelayer,orformultilayerapplicationwhendesired.1.1Thispracticeisintendedasadimensionalstandardforpreformedthermalinsulationforpipesandtubing.1.2Thispracticecoversinsulationsuppliedincylindricalsectionsandlistsrecommendedsinglelayerinnerandouterdiametersofinsulationhavingnominalwallthicknessesfromx00BD;to5in.(13to127mm)tofitoverstandardsizesofpipeandtubing.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
