【摘要】:Mostfacilitiesdisposingorutilizingwastematerialsareprohibitedfromhandlingwastesthatcontainradioactivematerials.Thistestmethodprovidestheuserarapidmethodforscreeningwastematerialsamplesinthefieldorlaboratoryforthepresenceorabsenceofradioactivityatuserestablishedcriteria.Itisimportanttothesefacilitiestobeabletoverifygenerator-suppliedinformationthatradioactiveormixedwasteshavenotbeenincludedinshipmentsofwastematerials.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthescreeningfor,,andradiationaboveambientbackgroundlevelsoruser-definedcriteria,orboth,inliquid,sludge,orsolidwastematerials.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtobeagrossscreeningmethodfordeterminingthepresenceorabsenceofradioactivematerialsinliquid,sludge,orsolidwastematerials.Itisnotintendedtoreplacemoresophisticatedquantitativeanalyticaltechniques,buttoprovideamethodforrapidlyscreeningsamplesforradioactivityaboveambientbackgroundlevelsoruser-definedcriteria,orboth,forfacilitiesprohibitedfromhandlingradioactivewaste.1.3Thistestmethodmaynotbesuitableforapplicationssuchassiteassessmentsandremediationactivities.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
